Attorney Adam Stone’s defense of a high-profile murder case in Crawford
County has become considerably more complex in light of recent developments.
The defendant, a 36-year-old military veteran who was arrested for allegedly
strangling his 68-year-old father back on September 30th, 2015, is currently being held on a $5 million bail. Now, the defendant’s
wife has now also been arrested and charged with complicity to aggravated
murder and obstruction of justice. Attorney Stone will serve as counsel
for both defendants, along with the assistance of fellow legal professionals
Kylie Martin, Michael McBeth, and Sarah Walter.
The defense’s argument hinges on the fact that the victim’s
body may have been cremated prematurely, destroying evidence that could
have been examined further. While the Lucas County Coroner’s Office
reported that the cause of death was related to strangulation and blunt
force trauma, an emergency room physician had claimed that the cause of
death was due to a heart attack. Additionally, signs of brain trauma that
were found by the coroner may have been left over from a motorcycle accident
that the victim had suffered prior to his death.
According to Attorney Stone, “The cause of death is an issue in this
case. The ability for my client to get a fair trial is hindered extremely.”
The defendants both face life in prison if convicted of their accusations.
