At The Stone Law Firm, LTD, our Bucyrus criminal defense lawyers have such
a strong dedication to protecting the rights of our clients that we are
prepared to put our own reputations and freedoms on the line in their
defense. Our very own Attorney Adam Stone was recently held in contempt
of court by Judge Sean E. Leuthold of Crawford County Common Pleas Court
for violating a gag order in in the high-profile Galion murder case of
State of Ohio v. Fred and Marla Saunders after comments of his maintaining
his clients’ innocence were
published in a recent edition Richland Source.
Upon being informed of the court’s desire to hold a contempt hearing,
Attorney Stone waived his right to a full hearing, defense, and right
to call witnesses on his own behalf. The courts proceeded to a hearing,
at which time he admitted to the violation and took full responsibility
for the comments that were made. As a result, Attorney Stone was fined
$250.00 and all litigants were warned not to make further statements regarding the case.
Attorney Stone believes this is no more than a minor speed bump in the
ongoing defense of his clients and maintains his commitment to doing everything
within his power in pursuit of justice on their behalf.
