Attorney Adam Stone Defends Bucyrus Fire Department Chief Jay Keller

by | Jul 28, 2017 | In the News

On July 20, 2017, Bucyrus Fire Department Chief Jay Keller entered into an agreement with the City of Bucyrus implementing a series of measures and standards to which Chief Keller will be held over the next six (6) months. In that regard, Chief Keller categorically denies any wrongdoing or misconduct; rather – in an effort to internally handle the complaints of disgruntled former employees without bringing scandal or dishonor to his department – he consented to the terms and conditions of the agreement with city officials.

Ultimately, Chief Keller sees this agreement as a positive opportunity to improve his skills as leader in the community and to provide stronger leadership to his fellow firemen. This opportunity to grow, both professionally and personally, comes at a great time for the chief, who is on inactive duty and unable to serve due to the long recovery process from back surgery, giving him the ability to concentrate on his professional development.

An honorably discharged veteran of Ohio National Guard, Chief Jay Keller has served the City of Bucyrus, Fire Department for 29 years without any disciplinary action being taken against him in any form whatsoever. His personnel file demonstrates that he is a decorated civil servant who has held his position as Chief of the Bucyrus City Fire Department with distinction since 2002.
